Healed People Heal People : Black Love

What Codie and Tommy Oliver are creating over at the Black Love Headquarters is nothing short of brilliant, life changing work. We are so honored to be featured on the final season of Black Love, and our episode Healed People Heal People is all about the growth that comes with parenthood.

Coming Out to Our Son

Embarking on this journey of truth, coming out and wanting to live an authentic life, was not an easy decision. It affected so many more people than just us, but we know at the end of the day, LOVE is the only truth that matters, the only pure motive. We are a living example that things get better, that when you stand in your truth it forces the people around you to live in theirs as well. We took those steps forward and never looked back.

By far the biggest blessing that came out of being interviewed on Black Love, was meeting Alimi Ballard and his breathtaking wife, Dahn. It’s not very often you meet such a vivid and vibrant example of the type of parent that you want to be, but each time they contributed to the conversation, we were enamored and in awe of the amount of love a body can contain. They were the most perfect example of unconditional love and intentional and active parenting, in a world where so many people still believe parenting means my way or the highway. Here’s a small clip of him reminding us that love conquers all and some photos of the gang behind the scenes.
